By popular demand,
I've put together
this collection of
my original graphic designs
and digital
art renderings. They
may be purchased
either as limited
edition signed and
numbered prints or
as note cards. The
large
rrbender.com
watermark will not
appear on the
prints.
Please check back often as
the selection will
change over time. |

Just a Word |

Along with a
million others,
I watched the
“Together We Thrive”
memorial service
held on January
12th, 2011 for the
victims of the Jan.
8 attack on Rep.
Gabrielle Giffords
that killed six and
wounded 13,
including the
congresswoman in
Tucson, AZ.
I
was especially moved
by the
words and tone of
the closing poem
by
W. S Merwin, our
country's
poet laureate,
entitled
To the New Year
Present Company.
A
rendering of my
thoughts.... |

Present
Company
To the
New Year
With
what
stillness
at last
you
appear
in the
valley
your
first
sunlight
reaching
down
to touch
the tips
of a few
high
leaves
that do
not stir
as
though
they had
not
noticed
and did
not know
you at
all
then the
voice of
a dove
calls
from far
away in
itself
to the
hush of
the
morning
so this
is the
sound of
you
here and
now
whether
or not
anyone
hears it
this is
where we
have
come
with our
age
our
knowledge
such as
it is
and our
hopes
such as
they are
invisible
before
us
untouched
and
still
possible

Beautiful work and
sentiment. I will print
out and mail to Mr. Merwin.
Thank you.

That is very
nice. I have heard references to
the Church of the Second Chance
for as long as I can recall.
